The story behind the piece
Liam, a laid-back surfer with an adventurous spirit, was introduced to me through a mutual friend, Keval, who had previously entrusted me with crafting his engagement pendant. Initially reserved, Liam soon found himself immersed in the world of bespoke jewellery, discovering the beauty and significance of custom design.
After discussing different gemstones, we agreed on a striking Emerald-Cut Lab-Grown Moissanite as the centre stone—a choice that symbolised both clarity and longevity. The design process was a journey in itself, blending elements that reflected Liam’s love for refined simplicity with a bold, timeless aesthetic. This ring would soon become a part of his story as he embarked on months of travels with Cate, leading up to the moment he would propose. Their love, like this ring, is radiant and full of energy, and I am truly honoured to have played a role in their journey.
Design & Craftsmanship
Crafted with precision and care, this engagement ring is a harmonious balance of modern sophistication and timeless elegance. The emerald-cut moissanite, chosen for its step-cut facets and hall-of-mirrors effect, creates a mesmerising depth and brilliance. The stone is set in 18ct yellow gold claws, enhancing its colour and drawing attention to its striking cut.
Flanking the centrepiece are two trilliant-cut lab-grown moissanite stones, adding a dynamic, geometric contrast. Their sharp angles create a sense of movement and brilliance, perfectly complementing the elongated shape of the emerald-cut stone. The setting rests on a sleek white gold band, providing a refined, contemporary foundation that enhances the interplay between the stones and metal.
